Reach out to the hand of mercy

I am sitting down wondering
Am I justified to write today?
I am called to be an ambassador
But I fail uncountable times.
I promise God I won’t do it again
But I don’t keep the promise.
And I am tired of failing on my promises!

As I sit feeling unworthy to look unto God
I sense God assuring me that I will make it
But I don’t want to make it tomorrow
I don’t want to make it next week
I don’t want to make it next month
I want to make it now!

Reach out to the hand of mercy, He says
No matter what you do, I won’t let go
I will stand by you and help you grow
I will stand by you until you make it
Reach out to the hand of mercy now

I am too embarrassed; I want to hide
I don’t deserve to be called his child
But he stands by me though I don’t
Even before I sin, he alerts me
Yes, he alerts me but I choose not to listen

Yet when I sin and I am down in the pit
He stretches his hand to me in the pit
He encourages me to reach to him
To reach out to the hand of mercy

Even if I fall so many times
I will keep reaching out to his hand
I will keep reaching out to his mercy
Until I become who he believes I am

And you, no matter the lies of the devil to you
Reach out to the hand of mercy
Until you become his splitting image
Reach out to the hand of mercy

  1. Ndidi, I read the Havilla this morning and knew why I loved you from day one. As his children when we awaken to our being saved state. Our life on planet, our coming to know the one who has loved us. Our consciousness of HIS love provision plans, and purposes. We automatically know our place and the scales on the eyes of self-righteousness fall away. Then we reach for his mercy and are washed by THE BLOOD. Never was there a time when one has called out in faith to this provision and has been denied the cleansing. New are those mercies as each breaking dawn.
Stay pure holy one for its your awesome birth right in Christ Jesus!
